In conjunction with the Auckland Council, Creative Communities NZ and the ASB Community Trust , the Pt Chevalier Community Centre is creating a brand new, permanent public artwork to run along the wall between the centre and Countdown supermarket. Facilitated by local artist, Zoƫ Nash, this six-month project involves lots of community input and participation, and will culminate in an exciting collaboration with a public celebration towards the end of July.
As I've said in an email to you -- interesting to see the use of some Waterview maps, the Oakley Creek sign and the Star Mill, another Waterview landmark for Avondale-Waterview history get included in the design! I'll let the Avondale-Waterview Historical Society know.
